The first decade of the 21st Century has seen the coming of age of the Black Europeans of African Descent both as political and academic issues. Although, a handful of known research by Black European scholars trace our presence within the continent back to the 17th Century our history remains largely untold and/or invisible.

The Black European Academic Network (BEAN) wants to tighten this gap by offering an overall view of Black Europeans of African Descent starting with three of the strongest European cities Berlin, London and Paris.

The following pages provide knowledge and information of the people living in Germany, France and the United Kingdom with the content of each page accessible in the tree languages (English, French and German). The information gathered through the Black European Academic Network (BEAN) ranges from different fields of academia to the works of activists, artists, and media professionals, covering a wide variety of social and political topics.
