Germany

Germany is the second largest country in Europe by population. However, its Black residents are extremely small in number in comparison to other minority groups in the country. Numerous Black German organizations aim at making Black Germans stories more visible, e.g. the life and works of Anton Wilhelm Amo who was the first Black professor at a German university and a philosopher of the European enlightenment (No image available!).

As a Black European academic network, BEAN stands in this tradition and intends to build a network which provides free access to Black European knowledge for all. This page will soon feature a variety of materials that will foster the debates of the Black European and the Black German Diaspora. If you are based in Germany and are interested in participating in our endeavour, please, contact us at 12blackbeans@gmail.com
