Welcome to the Black European Academic Network (BEAN), a site created to critique, inspire and pave the way for a better understanding of Europe from a Black intellectual perspective.

The Black European Academic Network (BEAN) is concerned with the lack of visibility of knowledge production of Black European scholars of African descent and aims at gathering and collecting data on their histories, as well as fostering discussions concerned with our similarities and our singularities.

The Black European Academic Network (BEAN) provides a space for exchange, networking, and support for all who wish to share their knowledge and findings with others. We welcome scholars of all discipline as well as PhD students and Master students.
